Handel: Alcina - Royal Academy Opera

"Carrie-Ann Williams, on the other hand, was so on top of all her music, completely unfazed by its technical difficulty and able to invest Handel's music with such emotion depth and variety, that she seemed to be born to sing this music. This isn't a small voice, but her grasp Handelian style was so complete that one hung on to every note: I haven't heard better singing of 'Ombre Pallide' and its dramatic preceding recitative from Cecilia Bartoli or Anja Harteros. A consummate performance, vividly projected and felt."
